The same thing happens with my phone and speakers. Great example... I can be lounging on a couch, with my SE W810i on a nearby night table. The speakers of the TV that is on a chest of drawers on the opposite side of the room will begin to crackle with interference. My cell phone will ring a second or so later.
Same thing in my Jeep and the phone doesn't even have to be preparing to ring. It just has to be powered on. That alone is enough to cause interference. It didn't do it with the stock radio of my crown vic or my parents aging lexus. But, always in vehicles with aftermarket radios, even with extra shielding.
