Regarding an obituary-- googling various forms of Bob's full name returns nothing.
Alphadog is best contact for family contact.
dmann is setting up a memorial fund (I'm in).
I also had a friendly relationship with minty off-forum. To answer some questions raised, Bob was in his mid/late 50s. He grew up in the exact same place I did-- the border between Chicago and Niles/Park Ridge (northwest side) and we shared all the same haunts, if a decade apart.
As to what did him in, I agree with the decision to keep that off-forum, but for those paying attention he pretty much laid his whole saga out for us here.
dmann lives right on top of Wrigley and would know better, but I'd think if there's a fund that sends underprivelidged kids to cubs games, that might be the ticket.
This is the second 'big' death of the week for me as well. The first is all over the Chicago papers.
Bob once sent me a virgin Apple poster (one of the 1984 series maybe?) that I still have in the tube. I will prioritize finding a frame.
cbelt3, ya got me with that poem.
