I just read a review of a Toshiba yesterday. It only has a 12.1" screen instead of the 13.3" on the MBA, but it is rated for 6 hr battery life, has most of the ports of a regular MacBook, DVD+RW, AND a Carbus slot for a broadband card while weighing in right at 3 lb. Yes it is thicker, but it is a pretty nice setup if you want all the hardware options in one package.
That used to be the selling point of getting a Mac, it had all the features people could want. The MBA is great though if you have a WiFi N network set up and do not use discs much.
