What would have happened if California only held one primary this year...

The normal California primary elections have almost always been held in June. In Presidential election years in the past that primary was held with the other primaries. For example, winning in California was what put RFK over the top for the Democratic nomination in '68, that is what they were celebrating when he was shot. This year they moved up just the presidential primary to Feb.
