Hell Freezes Over...[ Hillary Clinton on O'Rielly ]
#57
[quote guitarist]"Faux News" is fanspeak for "I watch it regularly, but pretend I hate it".

Fox News, contrary to frequent distortions by uninformed critics, draws relatively equal audience share among Democrats and Republicans alike. Interestingly, if progressives and activists and vegetarians and environmentalists and Ralph Nader fans and socialists and Whole Foods employees and Obama supporters and blue-collar Democrats claim to hate it so much, damn, they sure do watch it religiously.

Fox News Network and the "Daily Show" aren't the same mediums. "The Daily Show" is a PROGRAM ON a network, not a network. Fox News, just like other networks, has dozens of shows, news programming, opinion programs, newsmagazine programs, weather, etc. Comparing an entire network to a single one hour program ON a network makes absolutely no sense.

The Daily Show does get really good guests, and is as informed, or more informed than actual news/opinion shows it competes with. It's more than just entertainment, for some, it serves as a substitute for news programming. Much of which is out-of-touch, ego-driven, and intolerable. It's a brilliant show. Irony and humor are more revealing and engaging than the yelling and stonewalling theatrics we commonly see on newsmagazine shows.
what's amazing is that in 1hr/day, 4 days a week, people end up more informed then from watching fox news, which is on 24/7. That speaks volumes as to the garbage fox - and the other 24hr news networks - put out.

Do you have data on your claim that the people that watch fox news are a normally stratified bunch, across party, etc.? I don't think that's accurate.

Me, I don't even own a TV, so I'm not watching it...
