I actually had more trouble with events that occurred in the previous 5 episodes or so. The way his relationship with Melfi dissolved was not satisfying considering that the whole premise of the show was a neurotic mobster forced to seek psychiatric help. That was the gimmick and their split seemed forced and underwritten.
I felt refreshed that Chase chose to resist the obvious "hell to pay" ending because the Sopranos wasn't really "about" the violence per se, but how Tony managed his family and emotions amid the pressures of being a mob boss.
All the stuff with Bobby Bacala and Tony seemed pushed to the forefront and took away time from more interesting things. I enjoyed (finally) Anthony Jr., blossoming as an annoying yet more interesting character.
I Loved The Sopranos overall. Some of the best times I ever had watching television were spent watching that show.
