For all the complaining about it (not here - but in general) I thought it was classic David Chase
Throughout the series he often left lots of loose end and open endings.
He often left "endings" up to the viewers conclusions instead of defining what he though we should think.
I think that was a great part of the run. There were many episodes that I walked away feeling conflicted.
I think folks were expecting a wiz bang Hollywood ending when instead, Tony rambles along
touched in some ways and untouched in others and leaving "the ending" up to the viewers imagination
