Robert Rauschenberg, RIP
#5
Great artist and interesting person. His sister and her family live in my home town and I was friends with his nephew, who used to work summers at Captiva with Bob.

His mother lived on the same street as one of my best friends. Supposedly once before a Hurricane, she was looking for something to board the plate glass windows. She used one of his large paintings. When he found out about it , he asked, "Did you face the work out to the public or the back of the painting?

I can remember going over to their home and seeing this wonderful original artwork . It was my first exposure to Modern Art, which I love today. I had no idea at the time how renowned he was and would become. Its Funny, what is in your own backyard.
