alsolutely every move you make on the internet or with a cell phone is tracked and recorded. If companies can't come up with a plausible reason why they are doing this (to make money by selling your private info is the main reason) then they can always hide behind the homeland security legislation.

Once the info is transmitted, even with the best will in the world (and who believes in that) it is now next to impossible to deliberately delete it. This message as I send it and as you read it goes through so many servers all of which are being backup and through so many routers all of which have log files which are also being backed up, that nobody really could track down every reference and be sure of having deleted everything - how can you delete off of back-up tapes? Obviously it is expensive to spend time looking for the traces after something has been "deleted" - but almost certainly the info is still out there...
