Anybody running Leopard on a G4 iBook?
#10
Running Leopard on my personal bargain of the year '$93 14" G4 iBook'. Replaced the dead heard drive with a nice new 160GB Western Digital (add $75 to that $93 figure I first stated). When I upgraded my mom's 12" iBook G4 to 1.5GB RAM, I stole her old 512MB module.

My iBook G4's current specs:
1.33GHz
768MB RAM
160GB Hard drive
Combo Drive

Running Mac OS 10.5.2. Seems about as responsive as Tiger. A little sluggish occasionally, but not bad. I'm a little wary that Leopard has introduced new Airport bugs, but I can't quite pinpoint my occasionally buggy wireless issues.

My uses? Glad you asked. iCab 4.1.1 (web), Adium (chat), webmail, QuickTime Player (easier for listening to a single podcast than with iTunes), and TextEdit. I use Dashboard, but only keep two widgets running (weather and calendar). Love Exposé which I quickly activate with three of the four hotcorners. Spaces is still invaluable, but I only keep two virtual desktops on my old iBook (fourth hotcorner activates Spaces).
