Interestingly, we noticed in Japan this week that there are no paper towels in the washrooms, and there are seldom any driers. We met up with a Japanese friend, and lo and behold, she pulled a towel out of her purse. She said that as children, Japanese people learn to carry around their own towel from an early age. Maybe Douglas Adams was part Japanese?
