Well, you could do what my friend's OCD husband did. When they got a big LCD, he redid a chunk of drywall in their family room. He cut a slit (or whatever size it needed to be) in the sheetrock and ran wires up to wall connections that would be hidden by the set itself.
I have to admit it does look very nice, but the guy I was married to for almost 40 years would have been more the type to suggest hanging a picture between the bottom of the TV and the top of the cabinet underneath it.
