According to the 1938 edition of Webster's Superior Dictionary, wedding anniversaries go like this:

First - cotton
Second - paper
Third - leather (fun!)
Fourth - fruit and flowers
Fifth - wooden (your wooden anniversary)
Sixth - sugar
Seventh - woollen
Eighth - India rubber (more fun)
Ninth - willow
Tenth - tin
Eleventh - steel
Twelfth - silk and fine linen
Thirteenth - lace
Fourteenth - ivory
Fifteenth - crystal
Twentieth - china
Twenty-fifth - silver
Thirtieth - pearl
Fortieth - ruby
Fiftieth - golden
Seventy-fifth - diamond

So you should've had cotton last year. Stock up on your leather and rubber goods now!
