A scary craigslist ad (non-mac related)
#15
[quote kap]PetCo charges $45 to groom out 11 lbs terrier mutt. The mom and pop dog grooming service in our old neighborhood charged us only $25. Tho' he doesn't do teeth cleaning.
I wouldn't have thought there would be that much variation in different regions of the country. This area doesn't have a cost of living as high as that of So Cal, but it's not exactly known as a cheap place to live, either.

I used to do the grooming on our last dog, but I was younger, and he was passive resistive. He was also a very smart dog, and he would watch the activity level in the house. Even when I tried to be super sneaky, it didn't take him long to figure out that doggie shampoo and towels had gone into the bathroom. When it was time to get him, he'd be in one of the most inaccessible places in the house he could find, and he'd go totally limp. This was back when my son would help me, and even he had trouble getting a 100 pound dead weight up and moving. Isaac would eventually give in and walk to the gallows, but he made sure there was no mistaking how he felt about it.
