I don't get this whole thread.
The idea being, if you have never traveled outside your own backyard, how good a grasp can you have of other people and places. Making good foreign policy decisions usually requires both.

you have made a point that i thoroughly agree with.

to think our current president, with all of his wealth and privilege never ventured to see, experience, understand or appreciate another part of the world.

little wonder bush's "go it alone" policy has created minefields for this country to suffer with for years to come.

palin suffers the same narrow vision.

that is not what is needed in a global economy as we fight a global war on terror while battling global issues such as climate change, pollution, water scarcity, aids, food safety and on and on.
