i appreciate your position and agree...to a point.
in no way does daughter palin need to be questioned about her behavior. that is the role of her parents and every family has their own way of doing things and it is not my role to judge (unless there is danger to the child but that is for another thread.)
i do take exception of the use of the family as props. it is one thing to show the kids, it is another thing to talk about the older child is off to iraq and what a good american family we are and blah, blah, blah. candidate palin puts her kids out there front and center, put them out there, someone will ask a question.
if that road is taken, then there is going to be some scrutiny. this was true for the bush daughters, the ford sons, the kennedy kids. that is what happens at the national level. you don't want it, then don't run for national office.
for me this palin fiasco again is not about the action of the daughter, BUT the reckless decision by mccain not to realize/know that such a powerful piece of information---a pregnant 17yr old, high school drop out, who drinks under age is bound to find its way into the public stream of information. not anticipating that shows very poor judgement by mccain and the people he surrounds himself with. that is what i take from the daughter palin part of the equation.
and then there's the rest of the story: palin's supposed qualifications...but again, that is for another posting.
