OK, I saw the previous topic and thought I'd toss this out there as well...
I have a cell number I've been paying for as part of a multiline plan for the last several years with Sprint. It doesn't get a lot of use but I would like to keep access to the number for the future in some way. What's the cheapest route - currently it costs me $10 a month + taxes and fees for a total of around $14; it seems like I should be able to get this down to around $3-5 if I do the right thing.
Recommendations?
I've looked into VOIP and prepaid phones but both seem to have relatively high startup costs and it's not clear that I would actually be able to shut down the current line while retaining that number with the new service.
