Oh, at no point have I ever said they weren't reliable. Just crappy customer service, and way overpriced when they know you have no other high-speed options based on your address. There is a 6 block by 3 block island in my neighborhood where there is no FIOS or DSL service. I'm in the middle, and they couldn't care less if I am a customer or not.
When the city of Tacoma became their own cable and internet provider and wired the entire city for fiber optic service, Comcast gave anyone who asked internet or expanded basic for $10 a month for 2 years. I guess we know how low they will go when they aren't the only game in town, and their stranglehold slips.
