things have definitely changed in GA in the last few years. i used to wait until crossing the border into GA (I75) before getting gas. now there are stations between Chattanooga and Murphesboro that have been consistently cheaper than GA. for the last few years, i fill up there and at the very least, fill up again before i reach the Altanta Metro area. and now you say AL may be cheaper - that is a switch.

i keep notes on my PDA with exit numbers for the cheaper gas stations. i also check gasbuddy prices before i hit the road. and sometimes, i get so darn tired of tracking all this i just hold my nose and not watch the numbers zoom by as i fill up.
