I've heard that some players won't play some discs. This may no longer be the case, but is one of the reasons I haven't bought into BluRay yet.
BTW, do you have to use an HDMI cable with BluRay or will component cables still work? I ask because I just recently bought an upscaling Samsung DVD player, but it will not upconvert if you use component cables. It requires HDMI. My HT receiver does not have HDMI inputs, so I'm stuck unless I buy another receiver. It seems like I'm having to buy a new receiver every 4 years or so because new connection types keep coming out. I like my current equipment. There's nothing wrong with it, just no HDMI.
