kj, you are being your usual infuriating self, reacting to things that are not said and making sweeping statements that are not remotely true. I do not pay my taxes and say "isn't there someone in the gov't that should be taking care of this?". I do not have an "out of sight, out of mind" attitude. And I NEVER said anyone on this forum was a neocon, even though there are plenty of Bushies here. Even a quick casual read of my statement shows that I was talking about neocons in the present government.
The neocons are trying to pass our general responsibility to care for people who are less fortunate than ourselves to "faith based initiatives." Their efforts do not even approach adequate. Food banks and soup kitchens are overwhelmed, and the unemployment rate will go to nine percent next year, according to economic forecasts.
