Sorry, kj, I spent a good chunk of my life over there- it does exist.
This country could learn loads from the way europeans do things. That said, I really have no opinion on VAT.
We could learn a lot from the way people _here_ do things. So what? Who would ever say there's nothing they do well in europe? Just curious what things come to mind that they do super well? I noticed a few things, and I actually think I might even fit in better there, but I don't long for the U.S. to be european. For those who like the VAT, try buying a little liquor in scandinavia. That'll cure ya. kj.
