I guess it worked though, it got me to visit their site.
i heard a report on this last week on NPR. it's a pretty interesting listen. basically, the thrust of the campaign is that Clean Coal would be great if it really existed - but it doesn't at the present time. The coal industry keeps the terminology in play to give the impression that it's already here thus staving off necessary industry reforms.
The idea behind the new commercial from the Alliance for Climate Protection is that clean coal is like the emperor's clothes: It doesn't exist. Gore — the winner of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for his work on raising awareness about climate change — tells NPR's Robert Siegel that clean coal technology is not "anywhere close to being a reality."
