A couple of years ago when we started up with T-Mobile, my wife convinced me to add the unlimited texting for families for the extra $19.95./mo. I never understood why people would choose to text when they can just make a call, but what did I know. Now that we have it, I can see that it sometimes can be much more convenient. And thank God we got the unlimited family plan. In analyzing our monthly bills, our son (now 19) has been known to rack up 2k texts in a month without too much effort. But he does it so damn fast, it is faster than making that call and actually talking. He has a lot of friends and this is their first year off at college, so that may account for some of the volume. And he's still pulling a high 3 GPA. so it's hard to beef about it.
Last month (just him):
Txt Msg Recd Messages 2,749
Txt Msg Sent Messages 2,696
My daughter:
Txt Msg Recd Messages 566
Txt Msg Sent Messages 588
I guess that's the difference a girlfriend/boyfiend makes (or doesn't make).
