My daughter works around the corner from tekserve in manhatten and her friends say it is a good place for "open Box" deals. Anyone know about this place?
I bought my Mac Pro from them (I live in NYC). They are huge and
have been around for a long time selling and repairing Macs, and
have some folks there who can still work with pre-MacOS X Macs.
They also have a greater breadth of products to sell than Apple Stores
do, with the exception of iPhones. It has a very bohemian feel to it
(it's the antithesis of Apple Stores) and is decorated with vintage
electronic devices and 20+ year old Macs. They also have an old
Coke machine that sells small bottles of Coke for 10ยข. My only caveat
is that they charge an arm and a leg for memory, though not as
extremely high as Apple.
