Just attempted to make peanut brittle

Is there such a thing as peanut blob?

The house now smells like a candy factory. Everything was going good then I added baking soda and things got exciting quickly. Adding the peanuts didn't help. Tried to pour onto backing sheet to cool but I can't smooth out the blob.

I hope it tastes as good as it smells.

Have more peanuts and will try again tomorrow. Anyone have a good recipe?
