Canon iP3300 won't print unless color tanks aren't empty...workarounds??

Not sure if this is applicable to your Canon, but on Brother aio printers, the low ink levels are seen optically- when the sensor can see clear through the tank, it (she?) knows there's no mo ink in thar. When I needed to fax out on that machine but was locked out because of the low ink warning, I found the trick of covering the optical sensor at each tank w/a little pc of masking tape, to fool the system.
