Hi everyone,
I noticed something interesting with Eneloop batteries and other NiMH rechargeables. My girlfriend owns a Samsung digital camera that uses AA batteries. I lent her some Powerex batteries, Ultralast batteries, and Sony batteries. All NiMH. None worked in the camera. despite working without an issue in a slew of my own electronics, i.e. alarm clock, cordless optical mouse, remote controls, etc. So, I broke out a brand-new package of eneloops. The camera worked perfectly with them. I'm not going to question it. I'm just happy I found a NiMH battery that worked because she was tearing through packages of alkaline batteries pretty quickly.

eneloops have very small internal resistance, and the voltage does not drop much under load. that's why they worked in her camera.
BTW: be careful if you short the, they will put out well over 10A and you don't want to mess with 10A
