Google calendar "Oops, we couldn't create this event, please try again in a few minutes"

What gives? I see this error very frequently when trying to add a new event to my calendar but I don't know why it happens. I try refreshing, logging out and then back in... sometimes it just doesn't want to work. Anyone else get this error?
