Our Canon S3 IS is starting to show its age, and I guess usage... the pictures and movies just aren't as sharp and crisp as they used to be, and the camera functions are getting sluggish. The deterioration has gotten noticeably worse the last few weeks; not sure if it's a steady decline, or accelerating, but if anybody knows what the likely causes are, and how to fix the digicam, please do share the knowledge. Thanks. FWIW, it doesn't seem to matter whether it's in auto, or manual mode, high or low ISO, shutter speed, etc.... It's kinda acting like an old person aging.
I couldn't find anything online indicative of a known problem for these symptoms, and will call Canon next week, though I doubt there's fix it plan other than a general cleaning and overhaul. So go that route? or time to pop for newer model? Any other recommended shops to send it to for an overhaul if it makes sense? Answers/comments appreciated.
