Yes. Remove the cover of the drive, check to see that the arm (heads) moves freely above the surface
of the platters, and when powered up, does as you THINK it is doing, now that you can see it.
Once you've done that, you'll know for sure if it was good or bad.
Then throw it away, because now it's bad.
