Can't completely agree with this - in that I would encourage anyone to eat healthily and exercise, regardless.
Being diagnosed pre-diabetic was probably one of the better things that happened to me. After being forced to examine my diet, and having the motivation to get regular (daily) cardio exercise, I can honestly say that I'm in the best shape I've ever been in, and definitely like the results. It really was just a side-effect of following doctor's orders, but I'm not complaining...
