Note that while it does HD it only will do component video, not HDMI. So your resolution will be limited to 720p (or is it 1080i?) And this device exploits the "analog hole" that some content owners feel may be unethical. The fact that with Windows you can get it to pump out an AVHCD dual layer DVD with 1.5 hours of video playable in a BD player is interesting.
