Don't let your daughter sleep too long. It will upset even more her already upset sleep schedule. If she sleeps too long she won't want to go to bed at her regular time. Make sure she's up 4 to 5 hours ahead of her normal sleep hour.
My 6 y.o. daughter would fit into the same category. She's not one to say that she's tired and want to go to bed. We need to encourage her to go to bed when it's time. She'll stay up as long as she can, if there is activity going on.
Since you are on good terms with those parents, you may gently want to ask them what happened. Let them know that your daughter was a basket case due to the lack of sleep.
