2. When I speak of vanity plates, I mean personalized ones. We have "affinity" plates which have special markings that show you support a cause or belong to a group or what not, to which they assign a random number. Then there are personalized plates which have text like "BIG GUY" or "QT PIE" in place of the plate number. These can also be affinity plates, but it's the personalized ones with nonsense like "GOKHA" or "BNLVR" that have my cockles up this afternoon.
