This billboard is nothing but racism - are you denying this?

Everything about about Obama seems to end up here. Just shows how impotent and vulnerable he is to have to fall back on this age old trick.

I guess you have to stick with the script that you are told to believe.

I am not sure why I was expecting an intelligent answer out of either of you. Your non-answers are more of answers to me anyhow.

Do you really believe the sentiment behind this billboard is making the country any better?

8 years of anti-bush sentiment certainly made the country better.
4 years of anti-clinton
4 years of anti-bush
8 years of anti-reagan
4 years of anti-carter
2+ years of anti-ford
5 years of anti-nixon
6 years of anti-johnson
2 years of anti-kennedy
etc

please explain why critism of one president is not OK when critism of all the others is.
that's usually called hypocrisy
break out the violins

I guess bill just answered my question.

It is not racist if it used against someone you don't like.

I have no problem with people criticizing the president (any president) when they are not doing their job (or doing it poorly). Bush deserved a LARGE amount (not all) of what was directed toward him as he was doing a very poor job. Again, if one of the people representing my business failed like he did, they would be cut loose.

Do you give this a pass as criticism as well?

Criticizing the President != displaying a class of people as vermin.

"Racism is the belief that the genetic factors which constitute race are a primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.[1] Racism's effects are called "racial discrimination." In the case of institutional racism, certain racial groups may be denied rights or benefits, or receive preferential treatment.

Racial discrimination typically points out taxonomic differences between different groups of people, although anyone may be discriminated against on an ethnic or cultural basis, independently of their somatic differences. According to the United Nations conventions, there is no distinction between the term racial discrimination and ethnicity discrimination."

Hmmm. Being President of the United States... yup. Definitely discriminated against. Poor guy. He got the crap job, and everyone yells at him.

Seriously, I agree with billb on this. Free speech is defined as people saying things that piss other people off. I'm sure there were people who didn't like George Washington (hint... Whiskey rebellion).

Personally, I ignore attack ads and the like. They are factless and as a result useless. Unfortunately most of the political dialogue this election season is perforce factless.

"A billboard depicting Barack Obama as an Islamist suicide bomber, a gay and a Mexican bandit" and "a cigar-chomping gangster" isn't just insulting the President, folks. If nothing else, why depict him as gay? What is the message there? Being gay is like being a suicide bomber or a gangster? Really? WTF is wrong with you people who think this is as simple as a little dig at the President? It is a juvenile, nasty piece of crap commissioned by someone that the artist is not allowed to identify and the billboard company is not allowed to disclose. In short, by a COWARD.
