Half a billion dollars a year and they can't afford a host. How many in this forum alone are willing to use their own machines for a host for a paltry $million? Anyone?

Sure, what? Can you do it for a million?

From this thread and the one above, it has become apparent that Dakota doesn't understand satire at all.

From this thread it is clear nobody knows what the heck it is about.

Just to clarify for those who are having trouble:
Rgrf posted the satirical image in my post above. I am not certain of the original source of it, but it is almost certainly not NPR, and not hosted on anything related to the npr.org servers. Because the image Rgrf posted is on a public/free image hosting service, most of us see/saw this in his original post: ![]() That is the source of much of the humour in the thread. It could be the case that some forum members do see the actual image in Rgr's original post, thus they do not get the references to "bandwidth," etc. Dakota, meanwhile, is on his own planet, and I have no interest in explaining what he is actually seeing. Photobucket, BTW, is a subsidiary of News Corp, so you Libs™ can have even more fun playing with THAT conspiracy-ready factoid.

This is a lot of work for joking about NPR funding. You know, a joke isn't a joke if you have to explain it. Besides, didn't they say take the money and shove it?
05-01-2011, 07:36 PM
LOL. There's no stopping it.

Yeah, that is how bad jokes are.
ps How is the neighborhood around the harbor? Safe? We want to venture out next time. |
