Your lectures are getting to be tiresome. Just make your point and leave. The fact that Iran hostage rescue mission failed is proof that it was beyond the capability of the military. What else was it? A success?

Carter's failure with this raid was a triumph of Murphy's law. Anything that could go wrong did, and not everything that went wrong was predictable or preventable. Such operations have little latitude for bad fortune no matter how much planning is involved. A little more "luck" and Carter would have been a hero.
One more broken helicopter, and Obama might have been the goat.
