I'm a big fan of Michelins at Costco. The only problem is trying to find a good time for rotation.
Costco - should I buy tires there?

I've used Sams rather than Costco for tires simply because there are far more Sams stores around the country. If I'm ever travelling and have a tire problem, there's a higher probability of a store being around.

The rest of the set were still close enough in tread depth that it wasn't a problem. Only issue was they didn't have the correct tire in the shop so it had to be ordered, and we had to drive on the small spare for a few days which is very much not the same size as the others. To remedy that situation from happening again we bought a 5th matching wheel and tire which fits fine in the spare area of the trunk, and got rid of the small spare. I rotate all 5 tires on my own now, although I'm sure they would do it there.

Just got home and found the Costco flyer with the $70 Michelin tire coupon in our mailbox.
I told Mavis, just the other day, that it looks looks we're ready for new tires. Perfect timing!

I guess I'm still not going to find out what's wrong with Michelins, 2 threads and no answer.

I ran them for many many years on my 1966 Corvette and now for ten years on our 2000 Camry. In my experience, they are excellent tires. But, as I always say, "that's just my opinion, I could be wrong." ![]()

Yes directional treads make a 5 wheel rotation difficult as you would need to remount one of the tires every time. |
