Turner Classic Movies (there is "no" substitute) and sports (NBA/NFL). If I could figure out a way to get TCM only, it would be amazing.
Modern TV is too complicated

If we could go a la carte on our cable, we'd save a lot of $$
That's the real fear of the internet. Switching to simpler services like Netflix or individual streaming sites instead of package deals.

Have seen some really interesting movies that I otherwise would never have known about. We don't watch much sports, and all the big stuff is OTA. Some of the "smaller" sports isn't on cable anyway. I remember during the last summer Olympics being really annoyed with NBC for putting extra programming on the web only available via Silverlight, which didn't work on our Macs, and probably not on a lot of PCs as it was just out. - W

It was really confusing until I realized that they programmed 'last in, first out.' I have 9 channels that I use the most and have bypassed all the SD stations. What I find annoying is the dash or point in the numbering scheme. It is faster to hit 11, [enter], [up channel] to get to 11-1 than to enter 11, -, 1, [enter].

I like most stuff (classics that is).

I like TCM but not enough to let cable companies scalp me.
I have Over the air - rabbit ears on a LCD sony and I love it. My extra is Netflix streaming on a cheap Vizeo Blue Ray player. I rent redbox every now and then. I use a favorite channels list to skp all the religious junk. |
