Last straw accounted for. Comcast, you're fired.

That sucks, Will. Although it's hopeful Comcast saw your post and commented.

As for me I only have them as the ISP, zero TV service. Much simpler.

I've been lucky so far with Comcast service guys, only one really messed up. But their office staff, most of the ones I have dealt with should be in another business. Something like septic tank cleaner or crash test dummy...
Same here, get past the front office staff asap.

How much do you pay for internet only?

I'm in the process of looking into cutting the cord but have to see from where we will be able to access the few shows that we watch after cutting the cord.

I kinda always thought they make it less economical to have internet only vs. internet plus even the most basic cable package.

What are others doing for their internet after cutting off Comcast TV?

Thanks.

Not that this ultimately has anything to do with solving your problems (and I think you're better off dropping them completely) but it sounds like the first installer might have been a contractor, not an actual Comcast employee. I've had experience with the junior varsity / contractor installers and it wasn't good.

pinkoos,
Comcast Internet around here is $60, speed is at least 15 down. Think it is about $65, maybe $70 with basic cable and same tier Internet. However, with the encrypting of basically all channels these days, basic cable now requires a cable box. No thank you.

I switched to Clear more than two years ago. $60 for two connections. My mom often gets over 12 down and 1.5 up. I only get around 5 down and 1 up these days. Even still, $60 for two homes isn't bad. Current price for this service is $100 for two, so less of a deal. Luckily I'm grandfathered into the old plan.

If you want really good internet, get Comcast Business class. The service level is much higher and you get actual Comcast installers not contractors. The equipment is better and the service is guaranteed.

What's the average premium per month on business class Internet?

I wish I could get Comcast. Stuck in a building that the owner won't let comcast wire. Sucks.

Seriously, you are a very lucky person. You may not know it, but you are. Big Grin
I have to say I've had very good service from Comcast, especially in the last 5 years. Getting someone to talk to has been the biggest hassle, with Comcast's "select 1 for..." phone system. Very few outages, and those for only a short time. I buuy my own modems may be part of the reason.

One of their flunkies replied to the post. I emailed back and told him Comcast is not worth any more of my time, but if they will have an experienced tech--not a contract stringer--at my house at a time certain, and at no charge to me, I will give them one more chance. Five minutes late, he can just pick up the gear on my doorstep, as I will not need it any longer.

They can take those terms or leave them. Frankly, I hope they leave them. This isn't worth the hassle and I have other options.
