What happens when EBT does not work
#11
do they still have a record on who bought what, and maybe they can recoup some of the funds when EBT cards are loaded again in the future? or what's gone is gone?

Confusedmiley-laughing001:

The fact that people took advantage of that particular situation-and it's your tax dollars-should answer that question for you...

rubber room hyperbole should stay in the rubber room
Having witnessed other companies inept executions of outsourced government IT projects, I stand by my opinion.

Standard procedure for EBT outages is supposed to be a $50 limit, sounds like Walmart gave the store managers bad instructions on handling the situation.

More likely the 'Mart corporate decided taking the financial hit (which they'll probably be reimbursed for anyway, since the error is the government's fault) was worth more than taking the PR hit of "cutting off welfare recipients."

Really?

If the SOP is a $50 limit during an EBT outage, then Corporate could/should have abided, not "cut off" welfare recipients, and not take a hit.

I'd say they deserve it. It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out.

I went to the bank to get $20 out of the ATM, I notice that my balance was $15 trillion dollars so I took out a million dollars.

The bank let me do it and they knew I only had $50 in my account, so they should eat the cost
