All our Town cop cars have sniper rifles in special holding frames in the trunks of their cars.
We only know this because one was stolen and being locked in and very well secured its theft is surmised to have been an inside job.

Are these domestic or wild boar? Wild boar is very lean and quite edible. The frozen meat we were given by a friend was processed in Taft California just west of Bakersfield. The sausage was the best and we will take a pass next time.

Here in Texas a lot of the old timers will tell you the meat isn't very good unless the wild hog is taken in the winter. Did have a BBQ with one taken last November and it was quite tasty.

From Texas Parks & Wildlife Website:

Feral hogs may appear basically the same as domestic hogs and will vary in color and coat pattern. A mature feral hog may reach a shoulder height of 36 inches and weigh from 100 to over 400 pounds. The extreme larger hogs are generally not far removed from domestication. Males are generally larger than females.

Feral hogs are unprotected, exotic, non-game animals. Therefore, they may be taken by any means or methods at any time of year. There are no seasons or bag limits, however a hunting license and landowner permission are required to hunt them.

_______________

I have some guys who hunt them at night using dogs. They have GPS on the dogs and a small hand-held readout to track the dogs. They have a pit bull that is the 'catch dog'. They turn the 'pit' loose when the other dogs have surrounded the hog. They capture them live & 'hog tie' them and load into a trailer. They sell them for meat and said most of it goes into Mexican Food, tacos, etc. Food that is highly seasoned.

Most of the hunting takes place during the cooler months as most people around here claim they are more likely to carry disease during the warmer weather.

A restaurant can't legally sell hunted game meat to customers with some kind of inspection. I'd be careful with eating wild boar at my Taco Truck.

BS.

Maybe you heard about a bank robbery in Los Angeles a few years ago. Maybe you didn't.

Still BS.
