The day I cast my eyes down on the path of least resistance.

Oh, and that day I lost that hot dog. It was really good.

Divorcing my childrens mother was the saddest thing I have ever done. I agonized over it for years and finally realized that was the best for the entire family.

... I'm still not really over that one. Not sure I'll ever be. Sad

I hadn't seen that thread. Are you now able to tell us what it was all about? I might have guessed not a data loss, but a relationship you spent 15 years pursuing.

As for the topic of this thread, I don't like questions like this, which are too broadly phrased to have much meaning. Does 'sad' mean 'upset', 'traumatized', 'despairing', 'regrettable', etc., etc.? How would I rank events in my life? Do I really want to start reviewing a list of the most troublesome? Is a little-kid kind of 'sad' to be compared with adult loss or trauma?

And questions like this seem gratuitous, encouraging revelation for entertainment, or novelty. Better someplace like Facebook, methinks. I usually don't participate, but PeterB's post prompted my curiosity.

Seven years ago one of our very good friends died then three weeks later my Uncle died THEN the very next day my Mother passed. Sad enough over the loss of a good friend but then to have to call my Aunt to tell her her sister died the day after her husband was excruciating...

When my daughter, age 15 months, lost her transplanted kidney just hours after receiving it leading to her aorta becoming totally occluded and then, as a result, the surgeons discussing having to remove her legs. On the bright side, she suddenly and unexpectedly developed collaterals and her legs were saved. It was a week of very high highs and very low lows. The death of my mother and others close to me do not compare to that week.
