Site taken down by ransomware
#11
I'm going to call my insurance company and try and make a claim on the server. Any suggestions on how I phrase this? Basically this server is how I feed my family and now its been cyber vandalized.

Ransomware attacks fall under your cyber insurance policy's "cyber extortion" coverage and can generally be considered "first-party" or "third-party" coverage, according to Christine Marciano, president of Cyber Data Risk Managers. Third-party coverage would likely leave a company uninsured when they are the victims of a ransomware attack. - See more at: http://blogs.findlaw.com/in_house/2016/0...1zADR.dpuf

Sounds like you ought to make a claim against the SIS vendor. They need to be held responsible for mistakes like this.

It's a shame it's such an important site. If it were me I'd love to be able to say "Enjoy your new site!".

Damn - sorry it is such a valuable hack. I'm like Wurm - if they stole my website, I'd offer them $5
