C..if you can't handle a 30 footer (32' lightweight ladder type III ? ) It might be time to call the roofer..

I recently sold my heavier ladders and bought a 32 foor type III as my highest ladder..i can handle it but i lost the will to handle the higher weight classes..it got scary for solo.

If you decide to get up on that roof? Get yourself a dang rated safety harness and a proper rope for it.. long rope..tie it to a tree on the other side of the house and lock yourself in.

But, if your common sense is kicking in then you might want to heed it.

You are way too old and busted up to even THINK about working on your roof.

CEASE AND DESIST IMMEDIATELY!!!

I rented 3 levels of scaffolding from Home Depot when I needed to repair fascia around leaking gutters way high. It was way cheaper than hiring the man and I was also able paint the indoor way-high living room walls and ceiling. Money well-spent.

I think my dad climbed the extension ladder to the roof up to about the age of 70. Don't do it if you have to think about it that much. Being able to climb down safely is much more important that climbing up.

If you have to ask, the answer is YES.

And this is just the beginning.

I had a crazy friend who was hired to work on a rowhouse roof. He was given the harness and rope, but he never tied it to anything. The boss saw him leaping around bold and carefree as you please, grabbed the end of the rope and came over to him and said "What's this?"
