There was at least a two-week wait when I got mine.

I got my daughter a pair for Valentine's day and there was still a week wait to ship. They seem to be available at the stores though.

Do they fit like Apple's wired ear buds? I've always like the fit of those, the old ones and the newer ones, that sit sort of in the ear without plugging the canal.

Apple says the fit is different, supposedly fitting more of the general public. Overall, it's still the same 'sit in the opening, not the canal' fit. Very comfortable. I often forget I'm wearing them. Though the fit does help allow for some situational awareness, it also means turning up the volume when ambient noise is high. That's not good, long term.

Before I bought mine, I visited an Apple Store and they had maybe twenty pairs of demo APs. I put them in and shook my head violently side to side but they didn't fall out. I did that while yawning and on felt a little loose but stayed in. I was sold.

I have noticed the battery level is dropping quicker in the right 'bud.

They do look a little odd. Apple's rumored to be offering the AP2s in black as well as white. That would be welcomed by a lot of people, myself included.

I know people who own and love them. Then they buy their replacements because they've lost one or both...

.....like someone with a large *****.....they don't quite fit......and fall out.....the # of Airpods in lost and found are numerous ( have found quite a few of them).....get the silicone ear hooks........though Apple should have made them in a way that they would fit in the ear without falling out.....

that notion has been 'round since walkmans.

Bad thing is I bought my wife a pair for xmas, and now she walks around the kitchen with them in, watching/listening to her iPad on the counter. I come in and start talking to her and realize she hasnt heard a word I said.

$160 every two to three years is more than I want to spend on earbuds.
