We still buy and convert CDs, but it’s still very seldom these days. The RIAA gets our $$ from our monthly streaming plan.
for the RECORD books?!...Vinyl will soon outsell CDs......

Streaming is streaming. CDs are physical media. In that way, they are very different.
This. Also, I'm one of those that embraces technology. With turntables, you had to do your homework when you shopped for one. Rumble, wow-and-flutter, what the needle is made from; the list goes on. And the better the specs, the more money you spent. Then, to avoid the scratches and pops, you tried to keep the vinyl clean, holding the disc by the edges, and buying the cleaner. Don't forget stacking them upright out of the sun too. After all that, you still only got about 45 minutes of music on a disc that had to flipped over to get the 45 minutes... I'm glad there's market for vinyl now but I just can't see ever wanting to go back to it. I can store more CDs in the space I need for vinyl and need no physical space at all for streaming! I think the only good thing about albums are that you can see the artwork better on a 12" cover as opposed to a 4" CD. But, hey, I can go online to see a larger image of the CD!

Vinyl is an affectation these days, with most people. The only aspect that I like of it now is that one has to spend time with the recording vs just putting it on as background amd forgetting about it. The interaction necessary is important. Otherwise, I'll take the CD or even the digital download for better sound and convenience. But I still have my vinyl collection and won't part with it.

I was a Record Store Guy when CD's passed vinyl in sales, and also when CDs passed cassettes. Never thought I'd live to see either of them make a comeback.

I resurrected my vinyl a few years ago - when the kids moved out. I now have a listening room where I do get to enjoy the warmth of analog, the ritual of preparing the disk, and the artwork and liner notes.
The keyword above is 'enjoy'. YMMV

Hooked it back up when a friend gave me a new pressing of Steely Dan's "Aja" a few years ago and had to pick my jaw up off the floor when I listen to it. Sounds so much better than the CD it isn't even funny.

I am just amazed at the price of vinyl now. I remember walking through a Target about a year ago and vinyl was about $30. Seems to have dropped in price a little.
I think back in the day (90's) - full new albums were about $10-12 (I usually bought 12 inch singles or used or promo versions).
