Is this mushroom edible?

EVERY mushroom seems to a murderous look-alike.

In general, if you have to ask if it’s safe to eat, it probably isn’t. If you don’t feel like you have to ask, it’s probably still not safe.

It’s a bruiser for sure, though.

Quite right, with the possible exception of this one: The Indigo Milky-

^ Those pics aren't enhanced, they really are that color in person.

All mushrooms are edible.

There is an edible mushroom quite similar to that one called "Old Man Of The Woods"-

...but the quick & dirty distinction between the Old Man and the one you have is that the Old Man is a bolete, meaning it has a spongy-textured underside rather than gills as your mushroom does-

...so I'd resist the temptation to try your mushroom.

The problem with mushrooms is that their appearance varies greatly with atmospheric conditions. Delicious Chanterelle mushrooms and highly poisonous Jack-O-Lantern fungus are relatively easy to distinguish from each other in ideal conditions, but at other times they look almost exactly alike.

research "spore print" and see what they advise you for this particular fungus.
