This sort of nonsense is why I hate using delivery services. Everybody gets screwed except the man in the middle company.

Same here. Between the banks (CC) & gov't. taking a cut, any money the small biz
owner doesn't have to declare helps.

Some people work harder than other people.
True but not just tipped employees. There's slackers in most vocations and some
are so good at coasting they actually get promoted so their immediate supervisor
can be rid of their negativity.

More importantly (since one can actually go get food rendering Instacart just an option) a tip is supposed to be voluntary. Technically, you're supposed to earn a tip. Basically go above and beyond. If they want to make this mandatory, they should call it something else, like a fee. No one should ever be "required" to pay a tip whether you promise it or not. You gotta earn that buck.

I’ve only changed an Instacart tip to increase it.

One nice young delivery fellow and his wife are/were having a baby this month and we decided to bump it up from the 20% we had initially specified.
